Jay Tarolli

Director Of Product Development at Ionpath

Jay Tarolli started their work experience as a Post Doctorate RA B at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory - PNNL in January 2016. Jay designed and implemented a fully convolutional neural network for denoising and removing background signal from mass spectrometry images. Jay also compiled a set of mass spectrometry images for training data.

In September 2017, Tarolli joined Ionpath as a Data Scientist. Jay developed an algorithm to leverage the spatial nature of interfering signals in MIBI images and collaborated with in-house scientists to design experiments. Jay also supported contract research by performing downstream analysis of MIBI data.

In May 2019, they were promoted to Senior Data Scientist at Ionpath. In this role, they managed and developed a GUI application for data post-processing and trained object detection models for single cell segmentation. Jay also supervised undergraduate interns.

In September 2020, Tarolli became the Applications Manager at Ionpath. Jay led a team of field application scientists, served as the primary point of contact for MIBIscope customers, and resolved customer hardware issues. Jay reported customer issues to product, engineering, and software teams to ensure reliable measurements.

Currently, Tarolli is the Director of Applications at Ionpath, starting in November 2022.

Jay Tarolli obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Binghamton University in 2009. Jay later went on to pursue a PhD in Chemistry at Penn State University, completing their studies in 2015.
