Rob Christensen

Chief Information Officer at Iowa Finance Authority

Rob Christensen has a strong background in information technology and leadership roles. Rob served as the Chief Information Officer at the Iowa Economic Development Authority from January 2016, and then transitioned to the same role at the Iowa Finance Authority in July 2019. Prior to these positions, they worked as the Information Technology Director at HCI Care Services and VNS of Iowa from December 2007 to January 2016. Additionally, they were a City Council Member for the City of Adel starting in January 2018. Rob has also held various technology-related roles at TeamQuest Corporation, Clear Lake Community School District, and Charles City Community Schools. Before entering the technology field, they worked as a District Representative for Congressman Jim Nussle and as a Clerk/Projects Specialist at Mercy Health Center Laboratory - North Iowa.

Rob Christensen attended the University of Northern Iowa from 1990 to 1996, where they studied Political Science, History, and Russian. In 1996, they also briefly studied Russian Language at the State University of Nizhni Novgorod named after N.I. Lobachevsky. In 1997, Rob studied Russian Language & Culture at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU). Additionally, Rob obtained certifications in Managing Virtual Teams and Cybersecurity at Work from LinkedIn in 2020.
