Josh Marks, Ph.D., has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Josh is currently working as a Principal AI Engineer at Istari since 2023. Previously, they worked at Tesla as a Staff Electrical Engineer from 2022 to 2023. From 2019 to 2022, they held the position of Digital Service Expert at Defense Digital Service.

Prior to that, Josh was a Graduate Student at the University of Delaware from 2011 to 2022, where their research focused on developing a circuit architecture to measure the settling time of digital-to-analog systems. Josh also worked as a Principal Investigator and Lead Analog Hardware Design Engineer at CHIP DESIGN SYSTEMS LLC from 2015 to 2019, contributing to the development of an infrared micro-display system.

Josh's work experience also includes roles as a Data Science specialist, ASIC Design Engineer, and Hardware Design Engineer at CHIP DESIGN SYSTEMS LLC, where they contributed to improving system resolution and frame rate, and enhancing radiometric uniformity of the IRLED projector. Josh also gained international research experience as a NAROM Summer Fellow in Norway in 2016, studying landscape surveying techniques. In 2014, they were an EAPSI Fellow at the National Science Foundation, conducting research on crack formation in pipes used in Nuclear Power Plants.

In addition, Josh worked as a Research Engineer at the University of Delaware from 2009 to 2011, where they researched alternative human computer interfaces and led a team to deliver a product.

Josh Marks, Ph.D. acquired their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Delaware, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Josh later pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same institution and successfully completed it in 2019.
