Lighting Electronic Engineer at Italdesign

Tommaso Romeo has a diverse range of work experience. Tommaso started their career as a Junior Researcher at IMEC in 2012. Tommaso then moved on to work as a Junior Consultant at Altran Italia S.p.A. from September 2013 to December 2014.

In 2013, Tommaso joined Automotive Lighting where they held multiple roles. From October 2013 to January 2014, they worked as a Test Engineer. Tommaso then became a Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) Engineer from February 2014 to January 2019. In this role, they developed and designed hardware-in-the-loop applications and configured dSPACE simulators. Tommaso also utilized Model-Based Design with MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow. Additionally, they became responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities in the HIL laboratory from September 2017 to January 2019.

Most recently, Tommaso joined Italdesign in February 2019 as a Lighting Electronic Engineer. In this position, they are responsible for the technical development of electrical and electronic components in automotive lighting systems. This includes managing technical interfaces, coordinating planning and validation, and resolving design issues with suppliers.

Tommaso Romeo completed their education in electronic engineering at the Università della Calabria. Tommaso obtained a Bachelor's degree in this field in 2009 and a Master's degree in 2013. As part of their studies, they also spent some time as an Erasmus student at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, focusing on electronic engineering. Before pursuing higher education, Tommaso completed their secondary education at Liceo Scientifico Statale "A. Guarasci" - Soverato, where they received a diploma in secondary education. Along with their formal education, they have obtained various certifications, including a Certificate in English language for business and professional purposes in 2016 from ACCENT INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE CONSULTANCY LIMITED and an Italian professional qualification in Engineering from the University of Calabria in 2013. Additionally, they hold a Certificate in International ESOL and Spoken ESOL from City & Guilds in 2006, an European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) from ECDL Foundation in 2004, and Graded Examinations in Spoken English from Trinity College London in 2004.
