With more than 20 years of expertise under his belt, Mark monitors, identifies, and utilizes risk mitigation techniques and controls to ensure that nothing sidetracks the work or business. He oversees the world of insurance, leading corporate efforts in subcontractor prequalification and default insurance initiatives, property and casualty insurance, and loss prevention for all of the market segments. In partnership with the clients, Mark identifies and analyzes insurable and operational risks, and collaboratively determines the most effective method of mitigating project risks. He is also a member of AGC’s Surety Bonding and Risk Management Steering Committee. Most importantly: Mark’s expertise maximizes the success.

Debbi is responsible for providing cost analysis, developing project solutions, and real-time budgets that achieve project goals — even in the earliest stages of design. Looking past the blueprints to see the real impact of the space on business, Debbi connects the dots, fills in the gaps, and delivers solutions that resonate.

With DAVIS for over 20 years, she excels in developing smart budgets based on market fluctuations and industry trends. Pranav has been an integral part of DAVIS’ growth in the office building market for more than 30 years. Steve Phillips

There’s a lot going on behind the scenes of every DAVIS project that you might not always hear about. Janeen, a risk management expert, assesses each job from an insurance perspective, reviewing pricing, contracts, compliance, claims, and coverage. She has over 20 years of experience in finance, law, insurance, software, claims, and architecture, and she has proven to be a Jill-of-all-trades as she helps the teams and clients develop project insurance programs that benefit everyone. As construction evolves, so do laws, products, and the complexities of insurance coverage, and we’re incredibly fortunate to have Janeen to take on those challenges.

Janeen Stone

As Director of the rapidly expanding Healthcare Group, Will leads the project teams in the office and the field. With nearly two decades of construction experience, he has incorporated the needs of the clients into preconstruction, project planning, and financing. He also works directly with leadership to explore development opportunities and find the best ways to improve the community’s healthcare ecosystem. Will ensures the people have what they need to prove time and time again that they are the most skilled builders in the business, and his unending drive for knowledge has led him to join multiple organizations, including AGC of DC, [Urban Land Institute](/org/urban-land-institute), Washington Building Congress, and U.S. Green Building Council.

Will Cox

As a Director in the Renovation and Repositioning Group, Patrick provides an accurate budget throughout the building process. He has the experience necessary to look at any phase of a project and identify scheduling and cost gaps, and he has the ability to fill those gaps with creative and innovative solutions. Building repositionings are extensive processes with complicated sequences, and Patrick finds the simple solutions hidden within the elaborate operations. Patrick has been with DAVIS for 15 years, and he has played a fundamental role in helping the company grow and build across the D.C metro area.

Patrick Cotter

As a Director within the Residential group, Tom develops business and oversees all phases of construction planning. His 20+ years with DAVIS have given him a plethora of experiences building multifamily projects—an experience that has led to great achievements in highly collaborative environments. A hands-on leader with the technical skills of an expert, Tom excels at identifying and pursuing new opportunities, resolving technical issues, and managing corporate and external resources. With over two decades of construction experience and a long track record of planning and executing complex projects, Meghan is prepared for any job. She provides expertise and direction to the operations teams and confers with them at all stages of development to enhance processes. Meghan is passionate about working with team members to find efficiencies and improve business practices. She uses her technical precision and sharp attention to detail to meet any challenge and find a solution, and that fearlessness makes Meghan an invaluable part of DAVIS' mission.

Meghan Ulrich

Having worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, Julien is responsible for managing all project-related reality capture and virtual construction (VC) activities. VC involves 3D coordination and modeling of all mechanical electrical plumbing (MEP/FP) systems including fire protection; and coordinating 3D elements against each other, architectural design programs and structures.

Julien is responsible for all Building Info Modeling (BIM)-related activities across the organization and collaborates with DAVIS project teams to execute VC plans. Along with his a 30+ member VC team, Julien supports the entire organization by implementing software, hardware, testing, and research + development initiatives.

Julien Bartolo

As a key member of DAVIS’ corporate leadership team, Peggy does much more than ensure financial integrity. In fact, she’s a Jill of all trades, overseeing all elements of the company’s business security: from finance and risk management to the Corporate Knowledge Center (CKC) and human resources, from legal services and union interaction to office management. Having worked in the construction industry for three decades, Peggy’s global understanding of cost-effective systems and efficient processes — and the business drivers that impact the industry — is invaluable. Her approach is as straightforward as it is successful; fortifying DAVIS’ financial strength internally, while positioning the company’s operational strength externally.

Peggy has earned the title of Chief Conservative, a badge she wears proudly in her leadership role. With ties to both Washington, DC and Pittsburgh, Peggy is a Past President of both the Greater Washington and Pittsburgh chapters of CFMA. Her current association roles include Vice President and Board of the Directors for CFMA of Greater Washington, and Treasurer and Board of Directors for the Construction Contractors Council.

Jim Davis

Dr. Jonathan Dougherty — Dr. J to those who daily pass him in the halls — joined DAVIS in 2005 to create and lead our Corporate Knowledge Center (CKC) and knowledge management initiatives. He has built an integrated learning platform through on-the-job experiences and organized education. The CKC offers instructor-led courses, eCourses, seminars, and online resources that are the foundation of our competitive advantage: a team that is the best in the business.

Prior to joining DAVIS, Jonathan taught for six years in the Department of Architectural Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University and has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Building Construction at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. An award winning teacher, he is a sought after guest lecturer for students and professionals alike. An active alumnus, Jonathan is a founding Board Member and former President of the Penn State Alumni Society of Architectural Engineers, Board Member Emeritus of the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus Advisory Board, and former member of the Industrial & Professional Advisory Council (IPAC) for the Penn State Department of Architectural Engineering. Locally, he serves as a committee member for the Montgomery College Construction Management Industry Advisory Committee and was recognized by Engineering News Record as a Top 20 Under 40 in the Mid-Atlantic region.

A champion of lifelong learning, Jonathan developed and spearheads our University Partnership Program to collaborate with universities where we actively recruit — a program that has been instrumental in attracting high-quality summer interns and full-time candidates to DAVIS. As a committee member of the Architectural Engineering Institute, he is currently serving as the chairperson of the annual, national Student Design Competition.

Jonathan Dougherty

Bill is known as the big-picture guy. Joining DAVIS in 1984, Bill channeled his passion for construction into developing an extensive body of construction knowledge, and he expects the same from every employee.

His unerring attention to detail drives our company-wide focus on quality — from preconstruction through completion, and has contributed to our reputation as the go-to contractor for commercial buildings. His in-depth knowledge of all things construction makes him invaluable to DAVIS, and our clients love him for his no-nonsense approach and ability to identify problems and cost-effective solutions early. Bill is also heavily involved in our University Partnership program, and currently sits on the Penn State Architectural Engineering Industry Advisory Board, as well as the Virginia Tech Industry Advisory Board and Futures Committee.

Bill Moyer

Jon is smart, sincere, and beloved by his clients and team alike.
Jon is actively engaged early in project planning, sharing his expertise on feasibility and construction methodology. He knows his stuff, and his experience in managing extremely technical building projects and high-end interior spaces has given him an extensive blend of knowledge from which to build budgets and provide project solutions.

He understands current market pricing conditions, and his highly detail-oriented nature make him an invaluable asset during the preconstruction process. Jon excels at identifying the materials and processes that add the most value to meet project goals. His approachable nature makes this process — which is often stressful — an easily accomplished task. 

Starting as an intern in 1999, Jon is the first and only DAVIS employee to begin as an intern and ultimately work his way to Vice President. Jon has a knack for seeing potential and is a DAVIS “champion” for ongoing recruiting efforts at Catholic University – helping funnel the best and brightest interns and employees.

Jon can often be seen working with his team on numerous Jubilee Housing and DCBIA volunteer projects. He values these opportunities to strengthen relationships with others in the community, as well as improve his carpentry skills.

Jon Ellen

Dennis provides an incredible scope of construction experience, from effective preconstruction planning to implementation of construction methods. His focus includes strategic initiatives, as well as building and fostering client relationships. Dennis is a people person, and his value-driven business approach has led to steady organizational growth during his 30+ years at DAVIS. He’s a highly accomplished operations leader — and a pretty decent surfer.

Dennis brings together people from different trades, matching backgrounds and personalities to create a synergy that takes a project to a whole new level. He is highly regarded for his early commitment to developing a cohesive, company-wide strategy to make sustainability an everyday practice at DAVIS. Beginning his career in commercial buildings, TJ found a true connection to the high-paced, complex world of government interiors work and has delivered millions of square feet for agencies of every size. TJ thrives on delivering results through collaboration and innovative thinking, and drives his project teams to do the same. His leadership of the construction process ensures technical excellence and effective communication at every level, with all involved parties – from subcontractors and designers to landlords and tenant alike.

TJ Sterba

As the leader of DAVIS’ Integrated Construction Group (ICG), Chris is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Business Solutions, Scheduling, Safety, Lean, Sustainability, Virtual Construction, Field Engineering, and Yard functions. In combining his knowledge across these disciplines, with his construction operations background, Chris arms the teams with industry-leading resources and a technology infrastructure to support business and project systems enterprise-wide.

Chris’ strategic approach and foresight are visible through DAVIS’ performance, innovative processes, knowledge, and expertise. Whether for internal operations, project budget development, or ensuring quality on the job site — his teams deliver creative solutions for the entire project duration.

Chris Scanlon

Greg’s aptitude for commercial repositioning is commensurate with his depth and breadth of technical construction knowledge. His innate ability to seamlessly navigate the complexities of renovating existing structures has yielded over 3.5 million square feet of repositioned space. From basic modifications to highly complex building overhauls, Greg ensures his project team members are on point to solve every challenge an older structure can pose. By focusing heavily on meticulous site review, preconstruction planning and team collaboration, he effectively leads his team to meet each client’s modern-day needs, all while delivering exceptional results.

Greg Ghent

As ou rDirector – Sitework Management, Naresh knows construction top to bottom. He’s an expert project manager and estimator, with a natural ability to build relationships. In fact, Naresh’s relationships with subcontractors in the DC area, combined with his local knowledge of underground conditions and environmental issues, are instrumental in subcontractor selection, site-work and foundation design, and budget development. Naresh applies his project and organizational skills, and technical and supervisory insight to negotiate contracts and liaise between subcontractors, clients, and local authorities - ensuring complex site issues are resolved.

Naresh Kayastha

Matt plans and executes highly technical, specialty education construction projects. He is actively engaged in the early stages of project planning, providing a wealth of technical knowledge on feasibility and construction methodology. Matt Weirich

Steve has primary oversight of multiple operations teams within the Office Building group. With 20+ years of experience, he participates in all facets of the project from preconstruction to project completion. An expert in identifying and resolving challenges, he will collaborate with the entire team to flawlessly execute every detail. As a Vice President for the Commercial Office Building group, Steve makes it a priority to build and nurture his relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal partners at DAVIS. With active listening, timely action and followup, he ensures transparency at every level.  

Steve Hawryluk

Michelle shapes and implements our strategy, taking into consideration past and present environmental factors. As the standard-bearer for our financial integrity and credibility, Michelle oversees day-to-day fiscal operations, providing incisive analysis, forecasts, and strategies that are critical to our business growth. An astute leader, Michelle and her staff provide first-rate expertise and customer service internally, as well as externally to our clients, subcontractors, and consultants. With DAVIS for more than 20 years, her vast operations knowledge, calm sensibility, and logical consistency are incomparable, and equally valued by both DAVIS and our industry partners. Michelle is an active member of the Greater Washington Chapter of CFMA and currently serves on the programs committee.

Michelle Christen

Jason’s expertise as a safety management professional is rooted in his background in hazardous materials, including asbestos and lead. At DAVIS, he is responsible for the health and safety oversight of various projects and implementing progressive safety standards that keep those projects safe. With a passion for knowledge and skill development, Jason also frequently works with the internal Corporate Knowledge Center to develop, teach and enhance the safety education programs. While he cites the culture as DAVIS’ biggest differentiator, Jason ensures this same inclusive environment is extended to the job sites and trade partners.

Jason Kibler

With over three decades of commercial construction experience under his belt, Victor leads the Corporate Interiors team, a talented group of Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Field Superintendents. Always the problem solver, Victor finds innovative ways to keep the projects on budget and ahead of schedule. As a leader, he continues to elevate the game and provide a valued mentorship to those around him. Design professionals often seek Victor's advice on means and methods, and he's always willing to give practical advice on how to detail design elements. Prior to finding his calling in construction, Victor was a Property Manager for a local developer and property management firm. He takes those years of experience managing a commercial office building and applies them to the work his team does within the buildings of the DMV. Victor sees the process from every angle, and that's why he's the right person to help lead DAVIS into the future.

Victor Boswell

As a Vice President and Pennsylvania native, Greg is leading the efforts to build DAVIS' presence in the Philadelphia area. Greg has established an impressive construction career managing critical projects, including multiple complex healthcare construction projects for a world-renowned healthcare provider based in Pittsburgh. Previously, Greg worked for DAVIS in Washington, DC, until he moved back to his home state. Now, he's using his business development skills to build strong relationships and take DAVIS to the next level.

Greg Jasiota

Kate’s passion for storytelling and connection fuel her leadership of DAVIS’ integrated marketing communications strategy. With 15+ years of experience spanning across the architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines, she leads the team in establishing and communicating the consistent DAVIS brand across platforms and mediums. Kate is an expert when it comes to developing meaningful relationships with internal and external partners, and excels at setting and managing strategies that not only incorporate the business and growth goals but also connect to the culture and community.

Kate Attilio

As the head of our Pursuits team, Leslie uses her skill in proposal management to help DAVIS nail down the right business moves. When a prospective job is on the horizon, Leslie digs into the details so that we know the project better than our competitors, and she aligns our company-wide expertise ensuring our deliverables are meticulously accurate, thorough, and influential. The Pursuits team is a tight-knit group and Leslie balances her veteran experience with new and innovative ideas as she provides our sector leaders with the necessary tools to make educated decisions. Andrew is responsible for managing the safety of various DAVIS projects on a day-to-day basis, with a concentrated focus on soil contamination, erosion, and sediment control. Known for bringing out the best in those around him, he is a mentor, coach and leader to the less-experienced members of the team. Andrew is instrumental in business planning and goal setting for the department and works with groups across the company to plan and implement new safety measures. With a true passion for professional development and continual improvement, he leads by example as a leader within several industry organizations, including in his role as President of the American Society of Safety Professionals, Northern Virginia Chapter.

Andrew Geisert

Ben leads by example, setting the foundation for success amongst his team and the company. As a co-lead amongst the Interiors group, Ben’s quality leadership skills and honed expertise in sustainable construction are distinct amongst colleagues and industry peers alike. He is actively engaged in the early planning stages, flushing out project risks in the preconstruction phase thus enabling his team to quickly and efficiently solve problems – a critical skill in the fast-paced nature of interior construction. Ben’s holistic approach in corporate strategy, cross-sector marketing, and business development proves valuable in driving the company onward and upward.

What clients love about Ben is his persistence and creative approach in resolving challenges. He thrives on collaborating with the client team and staying actively involved, bringing exceptional diligence and ingenuity to everything he does. Ben currently serves as Co-Chair for the ULI Washington Leadership Institute. 

Ben Cohen

Dave brings more than 25 years of scheduling experience to every project he’s involved with at DAVIS. His dedication to a project’s success, from the time drawings are received until a building is delivered, is unsurpassed. As a seasoned problem solver, he has the foresight needed to avoid potential scheduling challenges. Through proactive and collaborative planning, Dave continually engages with all team members to ensure that each project deadline is met successfully. With his expert understanding of complex, large-scale construction he has the ability to offer multiple, creative solutions should scheduling challenges arise, while always keeping our client’s best interests in mind.

Dave Wahler

Dave oversees all field operations for our base building projects. He works closely with both field supervision and project management teams to overcome challenges ranging from mobilization and site logistics to code enforcement. Dave thrives on developing and mentoring those around him and sharing the sense of accomplishment in creative problem solving and closing out projects.

With close family ties to construction, Dave started his career as a laborer and has worked his way up to Vice President. His desire to help those around him succeed has made him a go-to resource for DAVIS employees, union employees and subcontractors alike.

Dave Mesich

Matt is responsible for all field operations. He is an authority on efficient site management, and consults with our operations teams on preconstruction logistics planning — before mobilization even takes place.

Matt matches superintendents to the right project, and our teams depend on his considerable technical and construction knowledge to help resolve challenges in the field. He mentors and trains superintendents on jobsite communication, and makes sure workplace safety, schedule, and budget management skills are instinctual — and up to DAVIS standards.

Matt Cafritz

As a Certified Safety Professional with nearly 20 years of construction safety experience, Dave’s knowledge and leadership not only set DAVIS apart but also ensure we stay ahead. As a Vice President, he oversees the Environmental Health & Safety and Quality programs at DAVIS. Dave approaches these two areas jointly and holistically, tailoring programs specific to project team needs and site demands. Through mentorship and education, Dave effectively equips team members with the best tools and training they need to prepare for and respond to potentially hazardous situations and ensure that each component of a building is properly constructed the first time. Dave regularly conducts field audits with upper management and also frequently collaborates with jurisdictional authorities to encourage engagement and ensure regulatory compliance.

Dave Chandler

When it comes to our people, Jennifer flexes her institutional, organizational and personnel expertise to lead our Human Resources strategies. She collaborates with the entire HR team to provide impactful human capital development and programming, covering employee relations, benefits, compensation, performance management, recruitment, and general HR initiatives. Her daily interaction with leadership and employees on and off-site, is indicative of her hands-on approach. With her unique previous experience as an HR consultant across multiple industries, Jennifer’s priority is to make sure our employees have a place where they enjoy working and are provided with the necessary tools and resources. She aims to truly understand what our employees want, and works with leaders to implement programs and resources that are attractive and speak to our culture.

Her favorite part about the job? Being a part of the new employee onboarding process, learning from individuals’ experience and watching them grow into and enhance the DAVIS culture.

David has led some of DAVIS’ largest and most notable projects, delivering nearly 6 million square feet of commercial space over the course of his 21-year career. His acute attention to structural detail and technical know-how are crucial for executing large-scale, complex projects. David is a true leader, with the ability to build strong team dynamics while maintaining focus and momentum. His knowledge of current market conditions and highly detail-oriented nature make him a key player in evaluating and negotiating subcontract agreements. Always keeping the big picture front of mind, David is an expert at gaining buy-in from all project stakeholders to achieve the common goal of building to a client’s vision while exceeding expectations.

With two decades of experience in construction spanning multiple sectors, from Residential to Renovation to Base Building, John has developed a multitude of experiences executing projects. John’s ability to plan complex projects makes him an invaluable resource as DAVIS continues to take on some of the most high-profile buildings in the area. He’s also a true mentor and motivator who helps DAVIS develop new leaders and impact the future of the construction industry. As a Director within the law services and professional services group, Meghan oversees all phases of the project from beginning to end. Bennie and his teams are responsible for the tracking and successful execution of all preconstruction deliverables, including estimates, drawing reviews, and cost savings opportunity analyses – including preconstruction services across all of DAVIS’ market sectors (office, residential, renovation, education, and tenant interiors). Bennie is actively engaged in design meetings and is vital in helping clients navigate challenging design decisions through the use of creative and customized deliverables and communication dashboards. Bennie uses relationship building and an understanding of current market conditions to ensure that clients maximize value through their DAVIS preconstruction experience.

Bennie Kovach

Like most of us, Steve is all about building things — the difference is most of the systems he and his team build aren’t visible. With over three decades of experience in the DC market, Jim's specialty is Corporate Interiors. He's an expert at identifying project challenges and resolving them efficiently across all stages of the project lifecycle. He has established experience managing, supervising, and successfully delivering projects, and he continues to provide invaluable expertise to DAVIS' valued customers. As a Director, Jim has a proven track record leading operations teams, and his relationship-building skills help him mentor others and develop future leaders. What separates Jim from the average Director, though, is his passion for building relationships with clients. Ensuring a positive client-contractor experience is a crucial part of the DAVIS approach, and Jim embodies that mission.

Chris is responsible for the execution of simultaneous education projects, and management of his operations team – ensuring everything runs as smoothly as possible in the development and maintenance of your project’s budget and schedule. He is actively engaged early in project planning and provides a wealth of technical knowledge on feasibility and construction methodology. Chris’ understanding of current market conditions and highly detail-oriented nature make him the key player in the evaluation and negotiation of subcontract agreements, ensuring all project goals are met.

Chris Hartzler

Dominic approaches his work with an open mind while stimulating a collaborative and solutions-driven environment. As a leader of DAVIS’ Integrated Marketing + Development (IM+D) group, he works in conjunction with DAVIS teams and external business partners to align our efforts with specific needs of projects – all the while balancing the broader objectives of DAVIS. Dominic’s operations experience managing complex and large-scale projects translates directly into preconstruction services he leads each day. Viewing every element of a project holistically, he proactively identifies and solves project challenges ahead of the curve. 

Dominic’s operations, preconstruction and marketing + communications experience has provided him the opportunity to work with a broad set of teams and unique skill sets. He has felt fortunate to incorporate marketing into his everyday role, helping broaden his foundation and bring new perspective to DAVIS and the construction industry.
