Michael Tucker

Senior Mechanical Engineer at Joby Aviation

Michael Tucker has a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in various roles and companies. Michael started their career in 2010 as a Student Technical Director at Princeton Day School. In 2014, they joined Ram's Head Theatrical Society as a Board Member, Technical Director, and Lighting Designer, where they oversaw the design and building of sets and technical elements. In 2015, Michael worked as an Autonomous Vehicle Interface Design Researcher at the Center for Design Research, Stanford University, conducting research sponsored by Google and Renault. Michael then joined Tesla Motors in 2016 as a Powertrain Quality Engineering Intern. At Tesla, they also had a role as a Battery Engineering Intern in 2017, where they designed components for the Model 3 Battery pack and collaborated with suppliers. In 2018, Michael worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Plenty, where they planned and designed automated production line cells and programmed industrial robots. Currently, they are employed at Joby Aviation as a Senior Mechanical Engineer since 2019.

Michael Tucker attended Princeton Day School from 2010 to 2014 where they received a Diploma, Cum Laude. Michael then went on to Stanford University from 2014 to 2018 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following that, they pursued further education at Stanford University from 2018 to 2019 and completed a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
