Blake Simmons

Blake Simmons is an accomplished professional in the field of chemical engineering, currently serving as the Division Director for Biological Systems and Engineering at Berkeley Lab since February 2016 and as the Chief Science and Technology Officer at the Joint BioEnergy Institute since September 2006. Prior to these roles, Blake Simmons was a Senior Manager at Sandia National Laboratories from September 2001 to February 2016. Educationally, Blake Simmons holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University, obtained between 1997 and 2001, and multiple Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington, completed in 1997.
