Sam Yen is a prominent leader in innovation and design, currently serving as the Chief Innovation Officer for Commercial Banking at JPMorgan Chase & Co. since April 2018. Previously, Sam held significant roles, including the Head of Commercial Real Estate Digital at JPMorgan Chase and the Head of Innovation for Commercial Banking at Stanford University, where Sam also co-taught courses on creativity and design thinking. Prior to these positions, Sam was the Chief Design Officer and Global Head of Design and User Experience at SAP, where innovative initiatives like SAP Fiori were developed under Sam's leadership. Sam began the career at SAP as part of the Design Services Team, focusing on adopting design thinking principles across the organization. Earlier experience includes co-founding Covigna, Inc., an enterprise software company. Sam holds a PhD in Design from Stanford University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.
