Senior Software Engineer (backend, Aws) at JumpCloud

Charles Seat has a solid background in software engineering and cloud infrastructure. Charles started their career in 2011 as an Information Technology Assistant at California State University Bakersfield. Charles then worked as a C++ Programmer at Black Shell Games in 2012 before joining Data Strategies, Inc. as an Application Support Specialist in 2013. In this role, they diagnosed technical issues, provided software training, and utilized SQL for data queries.

Charles then moved on to Teradata, where they held multiple roles from 2016 to 2021. Charles started as a Software Engineer, responsible for software development, testing, documentation, and support. Charles later became an AWS Cloud Engineer, focusing on the installation, upgrade, migration, and maintenance of the Teradata Database.

In 2021, Charles joined VIVIO as a Principal AWS Cloud Engineer. Here, they were responsible for designing and building infrastructure for scaling restful APIs and Microservices within AWS. Charles also ensured compliance with HIPAA and SOC2 standards and supported distributed web applications.

Most recently, Charles joined JumpCloud in 2022 as a Senior Software Engineer. Charles'sprimary focus is developing robust and scalable backend services in Golang and AWS using Python. Charles also designs and implements RESTful and gRPC APIs and deploys cloud infrastructure using technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and AWS.

Charles Seat completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Troy University from 2014 to 2016. During the same period, they also pursued a Minor in Cyber Security. In 2016, they obtained additional certifications including AWS Technical Professional from Amazon Web Services in August 2016 and Application Security and Secure Coding Training from Codebashing in September 2018. Charles went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2018 to 2021.
