Greg Lewis

Director, Mechanical Engineering at Kateeva

Greg Lewis has a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in various high-tech companies. Greg started their career at Reflectivity in 2004, where they served as the Manager of Equipment Design. During their time there, they led the mechanical team in designing and building the equipment necessary for processing, assembling, and testing micro mirror devices for projection display systems.

In 2006, Greg joined Texas Instruments as a Mechanical Engineer. Greg was part of a team responsible for developing new applications for DLP micro mirror devices. Their role involved designing and building prototypes to validate potential applications, such as laser-based rear-projection displays and compact projection systems. Greg stayed with the company until 2007.

From 2007 to 2011, Greg worked at Solyndra as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. Solyndra specialized in producing thin film solar cells using a unique cylindrical shape. Greg was involved in the design of evaporation sources in the CIGS process chambers. Greg also contributed to the in-house design and construction of vacuum process tools.

Since 2011, Greg has been with Kateeva, serving in progressively more senior positions. Greg currently holds the role of Director of Mechanical Engineering. Kateeva specializes in providing high-precision ink jet printing systems to the display manufacturing industry. Greg's responsibilities include overseeing mechanical engineering operations and contributing to the development of applications such as monomer inks for thin-film encapsulation and OLED and quantum dot inks for discrete pixel printing.

Greg Lewis earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Greg later pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution. Additionally, they obtained a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, specializing in Thermosciences. The specific duration of their studies at The University of Texas at Austin is not provided.
