Kate Ovchinnikova

Kate Ovchinnikova has a strong background in data science and actuarial work. Kate is currently working as the Director of Data Science at Kemper since May 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of Assistant Director of Data Science at Symetra from June 2018 to May 2021. Before joining Symetra, Kate worked at Boeing as an Actuary from June 2015 to June 2018. Kate also has experience as a Senior Actuarial Associate at Symetra from March 2010 to June 2015. In addition to their work experience, Kate also served as an Instructor at the University of Washington from September 2008 to June 2010.

Kate Ovchinnikova earned a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Washington, which they attended from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Operations Research from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) between 1998 and 2003. Kate has also obtained additional certifications, including a Certificate in Machine Learning from the University of Washington in 2019, and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) from the Society of Actuaries in 2014.
