Belen Andres

Belen Andres, PhD has a diverse work experience in the space sector and telecommunications field. Belen is currently working as the Director of Business Development Europe at Kepler Communications Inc. Since 2017, they have been the Senior Consultant and Founder of Teraqua Space, where they are involved in global business development, strategy, product development, and consultancy support for launch vehicles and satellite systems. Belen has also worked as an Instructor at Global Underwater Explorers and an Independent Expert Evaluator at the European Commission. Previous roles include serving as the Director of Global Sales Engineering at RBC Signals, Head of Systems Engineering and Avionics at PLD Space, Lead RF Engineer at Rocket Lab USA, and Satellite Radiofrequency and Communications Engineer at Elecnor-Deimos Satellite Systems. Belen began their career as a Research Fellow at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and later obtained their PhD in Electrical Engineering from Carlos III University of Madrid. Belen'sresearch focused on enhancing radiated power in the Terahertz Band and simulation of the human eye.

Belen Andres, PhD, has an extensive education history that spans multiple fields. Belen pursued their doctoral studies from 2011 to 2013 at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree specializing in Antenna and RF Engineer in the field of Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2008, Belen earned their MsC degree in Telecommunication from the same university. In 2002, they completed their Communications Master degree in Communication Systems at Carlos III University of Madrid.

Additionally, Belen has gained practical experience outside of academia. Belen engaged in an educational experience at the University of Reading from 2006 to 2007, although the degree or field of study for this period is not specified. Furthermore, they acquired certifications in various areas to enhance their professional skills. In 2015, Belen became STK Master Certified through AGI, a company specializing in systems engineering and analysis software. Belen also completed the STK Systems Toolkit course offered by AGI Technologies in 2014.

Belen Andres has also actively pursued certifications beyond their academic qualifications. Belen attended the World Radio Seminar in October 2022, organized by the International Telecommunication Union. In May 2020, they participated in the Business Modelling for Innovators program, conducted by Go To Space Hubs in association with the European Space Agency. Additionally, Belen completed the Innovation, from Plan to Product course provided by QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in April 2020.

Furthermore, Belen has developed their expertise in diving. Belen obtained the title of Cave diver from UTD Unified Team Diving and holds the Tech diver 2 certification, focusing on technical diving and the marine environment.
