Russell Eastaugh has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Russell started their career as a Mine Captain with Zimbabwe Mining & Smelting in 1983. Russell then joined HM Revenue & Customs as an Inspector of Taxes, where they assessed self-employed taxpayers and companies. After that, they worked as a Tax Consultant at Deloitte South Africa, advising clients on South African corporate and personal taxation. Russell later became a Tax Partner at Deloitte South Africa, focusing on corporate tax and working with mining companies. Russell then moved to PwC Uganda as a Tax Partner, providing advisory services and handling tax disputes. At PwC Nigeria, they continued as a Tax Partner and also led tax services in the West African English-speaking region. In 2020, they became an Independent Tax Consultant, providing tax planning advice to companies with operations in Nigeria. Russell also engaged with the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Finance on tax policy and served as an independent non-executive director of a Nigerian finance company. Currently, they are working as an Africa Tax Lead at Regan van Rooy. From 2020 onwards, they also held the role of Group Tax Director at KingMakers, where they monitored tax compliance across various countries, managed transfer pricing compliance, and designed a new group structure for future expansion.

Russell Eastaugh has a diverse education history. Russell completed their high school education at Belfast High School from 1971 to 1978, where they focused on subjects such as Physics, Mathematics and Further Mathematics, Geography, and Use of English. Following this, Russell pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Mining at Imperial College London from 1978 to 1981. Later, they attended the University of Cape Town for a Bachelor's Degree in Taxation from 1994 to 1996. Furthermore, Russell also completed an Accountants Conversion Course at the University of Cape Town in 1992.
