Mariela Martinez

Mariela Martinez has a diverse work experience. Mariela is currently working at KIPP SoCal Public Schools as an English Language Arts Teacher since July 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Teacher Resident at the same company from July 2022 to June 2023. Mariela also worked at City Year as an Americorps Member from August 2021 to June 2022. Before that, they were a Barista at Starbucks from February 2020 to July 2021. Mariela gained experience in public service as a UCCS Intern at the California State Senate from September 2019 to December 2019. Additionally, they served as the Co-Fundraising Chair at La Escuelita de UCSB from September 2018 to June 2019. Their earlier work experience includes working as a Crew Member at Chipotle Mexican Grill from January 2017 to May 2017.

Mariela Martinez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International/Global Studies from UC Santa Barbara, where they attended from 2015 to 2019. Mariela then pursued further education at the Alder Graduate School of Education, obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from 2022 to 2023.
