Mark Pirkle has worked in the gaming industry since 2006. In that time, they have held a number of roles with various companies. From 2006-2010, they were a Programmer at Brethren Entertainment Studios, where they used Unity 3D to develop 3 mobile games, create golf shot visualizations and environments, and work on various other projects. From 2010-2013, they were a Senior Engineer at GameSamba, where they managed an online title, developed new levels and play incentives, and provided ongoing maintenance and patch deployment. In 2013, they held the role of Platform Manager at Sega of America, Inc. From 2014-2016, they were an Indie Developer at Pure Game Design, where they designed and implemented a grid-based ruleset and extensible skill system for a Tactics RPG combat system in Unity 3D. Finally, from 2016-present, they have been a Game Designer at KIXEYE, where they have written specs for new systems, virtual goods, features, and events for free-to-play title Battle Pirates, and designed, implemented, and tuned gameplay mechanics, units, equipment, and levels for primary revenue generating monthly events, campaigns, and bosses.
Mark Pirkle received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UC San Diego between 2003 and 2006.
