Maik began their career at Ogilvy & Mather, where they worked as an Account Executive and completed a trainee program from September 2014 to October 2016.

After that, they joined Lindt & Sprüngli as a Junior Manager in E-Commerce from April 2017 to March 2019. Maik then advanced to the role of Sales Manager in E-Commerce from April 2019 to December 2021.

Currently, Maik H. is working at Klarna as a Business Development Manager since January 2022. Maik has been responsible for managing key accounts, driving new business growth, and expanding market reach. Maik has successfully established and developed relationships with top-strategic global enterprise merchants and fast-paced high-growth startups, strengthening Klarna's position as a BNPL payment leader and shopping solution provider. Maik H. is experienced in optimizing existing business fields in the area of Payments and e-Commerce solutions. Maik focuses on relationship building, key account management, data analysis, presentation, negotiation skills, and generating incremental value for partners and Klarna while identifying growth opportunities.

Maik H. began their education at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics in 2010, where they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in International Business in 2013. In 2012, they had the opportunity to participate in an Auslandssemester at Nanyang Technological University Singapore, where they focused on International Business. Maik H. continued their studies at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in International Business in 2014.
