John van Lanen

John Van Lanen has diverse work experience in finance and accounting roles. John is currently working as the Director of Technical Accounting at Komodo Health since February 2022. Before that, they worked at Google as the Cloud New Product Initiative Controller from March 2021 to February 2022, and as the Technical Accounting Manager from February 2020 to March 2021. Prior to Google, they were a Technical Accounting Manager at Looker from January 2019 to February 2020. John also held positions at Plantronics as a Senior Technical Revenue Manager from October 2018 to January 2019, and as a Technical Revenue Manager from March 2016 to October 2018. At Adobe, they served as the Manager of Technical Accounting from October 2012 to February 2016, and as a Senior Financial Analyst in External Reporting & Technical Accounting from March 2010 to October 2012. John began their career at Deloitte, where they worked as a Senior Auditor from 2010 to 2012 and as an Audit Associate from 2006 to 2008.

John Van Lanen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management Economics with a focus on Accounting Series from the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2004 to 2006. John also completed an Associate's degree in Economics at Cabrillo College from 1999 to 2004. John is currently pursuing a certification in Project Management at UCSC Silicon Valley Extension. In addition, John obtained certification as a Certified Public Accountant from The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in 2010.
