Michael Southerland

Michael Southerland has over 18 years of experience in the field of information security. Michael is currently working as the Director of Information Security at Kraton Corporation since August 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Global Lead for Red Team and APT Ops at Deutsche Bank from March 2019 to August 2022. Before joining Deutsche Bank, Michael worked in the US Army as an Information Systems Security Manager from March 2018 to March 2019. Michael also has experience in the Cyber Security Operations Center at Deutsche Bank, where they worked as a Team Lead from January 2016 to March 2018. Additionally, Michael served in the Florida National Guard, holding various roles such as Information Systems Security Manager from January 2011 to January 2016, Systems Administrator from June 2006 to January 2011, and Information Security Analyst from June 2004 to June 2006.

Michael Southerland earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Anthropology from the University of Florida from 1991 to 1994. Michael went on to obtain a Master of Science (MS) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Troy University, where they attended from 2002 to 2004.
