Rick Downey

Rick Downey has a vast work experience that spans over three decades, primarily in sales and business development roles. Rick has worked for various notable companies, including Lambda, Supermicro, Cray - a Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company, First Alarm, Tyco Integrated Security, Spectra Logic, Oracle, ForceBrain.com, and Silicon Graphics.

Downey started their career in 1991 as an inside sales representative at Silicon Graphics, where they sold integrated systems and software solutions. Rick later moved to outside sales and consequently became a channel sales manager, a business development manager, and an account manager until 2009 when they left the company.

After leaving Silicon Graphics, Downey joined ForceBrain.com as a director of sales, where they provided customers in the SaaS and Cloud Computing space with the latest tools on the market. Rick then joined Oracle as an account manager, where they assisted state and local government clients with their disaster recovery, archive, and backup solutions, and introduced video surveillance to their co-workers.

In 2015, Downey became a video surveillance specialist at Spectra Logic, where they found a disruptive technology that changed the video surveillance market. Rick later joined Tyco Integrated Security in 2016 as a senior account executive III and provided security solutions to commercial accounts in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Before joining Cray in 2019 as a business development specialist and lead generation rep IV, Downey worked as a senior sales account manager at First Alarm, where they provided consulting on advanced video surveillance, access control, intrusion, and fire alarm systems.

At Supermicro, Downey worked as a senior federal system integrator account manager in 2020 before joining Lambda in 2021 as an AI/ML specialist. At Lambda, Downey worked with a team of AI scientists focused on building the world's best machine learning hardware and cloud. Theircustomers included Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, and the Department of Defense, among others.

Rick Downey attended the University of Phoenix from 1988-1989, where they studied Business Studies. Rick also attended De Anza College for an undetermined period of time, where they studied Computer Science. Lastly, they attended Harbor High, the name of which is provided without any accompanying dates or fields of study. In addition to their educational background, Downey has earned certifications in ACE from Certified Alarm Technicians in February 2016 and Axis Certified Professional from Axis Communications in August 2018.
