Alex Colom

Alex Colom has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. They began their career as a Quality Assurance Tester at Westwood Studios in 1998 and later worked as a Senior Game Advisor at Electronic Arts (EA) from 2001 to 2003. In 2003, they joined Blizzard Entertainment as a Lead Game Advisor. Afterward, they worked at Paramount Parks | VIACOM as an Actor for Star Trek: The Experience from 2004 to 2005.

Alex then transitioned to the field of cybersecurity, starting at Bally Technologies as a QA Engineer in 2005 and progressing to the role of Senior QA Engineer from 2010 to 2014. They also served as a QA Supervisor during this time.

In 2014, Alex joined Scientific Games as a QA Supervisor before moving to BMM Testlabs as a Senior Test Engineer in 2015. They then rejoined Bally Technologies as a QA Supervisor from 2015 to 2016.

In 2016, Alex returned to the field of cybersecurity, this time at Las Vegas Sands Corp. They held various roles including Cyber Security Analyst, Cyber Security Engineer - Vulnerability Management, and Senior Cyber Security Analyst. They left the company in 2020.

In 2020, Alex worked as a Security Analyst - Attack Surface Management at Aristocrat. They later returned to Las Vegas Sands Corp. as a Senior SOC Analyst in 2020, Cyber Security Architect in 2021, and currently as Senior Manager of Cyber Security starting in June 2022.

Alex Colom attended the College of Southern Nevada from 2000 to 2001, where they studied Computer Science. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2016, they received the ITIL Foundation Level certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice. In 2018, they obtained the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council. In 2019, they earned the Nexpose Certified Administrator and Advanced Vulnerability Manager certifications from Rapid7. Most recently, in 2022, they obtained the DevOps Foundation and DevSecOps Foundation certifications from New Horizons.
