Peter Jordan

Associate Director, Chemical & Analytical Services at Lassogen

Peter Jordan is a senior scientist at Lassogen, where they have worked since October 2020. Prior to that, they were a scientist at Sirenas from May 2018 to October 2020, where they helped the company demonstrate its core capabilities to key partners and investors by supporting the discovery team with metabolite isolation and structure elucidation down to the sub-10 microgram scale.

From June 2017 to May 2018, Jordan was a visiting scientist and consultant at Snap Bio, Inc. In this role, they supported the development of proprietary software and lab-to-data pipeline to identify bioactive components of complex mixtures by designing experiments to test pipeline iterations and building a robust LCMS system and data QC protocol that ensured run-to-run consistency and data quality across thousands of runs. Peter also created SOPs for LCMS method scouting, mass-directed purification, and natural product isolation.

In addition, Jordan has led experiments for semi-synthetic modification of isolated hit compounds for SAR studies and to access structures too complex for practical total synthesis. Peter has also provided SAR insights and desired properties not found in the isolated lead compound.

Jordan earned their PhD in Chemistry from Yale University. Peter then went on to earn their Master's degree in Chemistry from New York University. Lastly, they completed their Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Reed College.

Peter Jordan reports to Mark Burk, Founder, President & CEO. Some of their coworkers include Jennifer Shaffer - Senior Scientist I, Biochemistry, Bethany Okada - Scientist II, Analytical, and Anna Lechner - Senior Scientist II, Discovery Platform Lead.
