Chandra L. Alston, Ph.D., currently serves as a Senior Researcher at the Learning Policy Institute, a position held since June 2023. Prior to this role, Alston was an Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University from July 2020 to May 2023 and at the University of Michigan from August 2012 to May 2020, where responsibilities included teaching secondary English methods and teacher education. Alston's academic journey includes a Doctoral candidacy at Stanford University, culminating in a dissertation focused on writing engagement among African American students.
