Regional Partnerships Director at LENA

Pamela Salgado has an extensive work experience in the field of early childhood education. Pamela currently holds the position of Regional Partnerships Director at LENA, starting in December 2022. Prior to their current role, Pamela worked at Teachstone as a Regional Director, where they served as a trusted strategic advisor for contracted clients and managed client relationships. Pamela also acted as an internal customer advocate and gathered feedback from clients.

Before their role at Teachstone, Pamela worked at First 5 California as an Education Consultant/Coaching Specialist. In this role, they supervised and evaluated a team of bilingual coaches, provided trainings and technical support, and utilized the MyTeachingPartner program to identify teacher strengths and develop high-quality CLASS-based interactions.

Furthermore, Pamela worked at YMCA Childcare Resource Service/Progressive Early Assessments LLC as an Early Education Consultant/Evaluator, evaluating program quality for over 500 early childhood education sites and collaborating with stakeholders to support the Quality Preschool Initiative. Pamela also worked at the San Diego County Office of Education as an Educational Consultant/Evaluator, evaluating program quality for over 100 early childhood education sites and collaborating with stakeholders to provide universal access to quality early education programs.

Earlier in their career, Pamela served as the Director/Educational Program Coordinator at the Monterey Center for Children and Families, where they supervised staff, conducted teacher and child assessments, and organized professional development trainings. Pamela also worked as a Project Manager at Mills College, facilitating the accreditation process and collaborating with teaching teams to develop curriculum and provide care for children.

Lastly, Pamela began their career as a Teacher at Bing School, Stanford University, where they supervised and mentored staff, led teaching teams, and evaluated children's growth and development through conferences with parents.

Pamela Salgado attended Stanford University from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology. Pamela then pursued further education at Mills College from 2002 to 2004, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. In 2006, they attended the University of San Diego and completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree, focusing on Business Administration with a management emphasis. Pamela also obtained additional certifications, including a Child Development Program Director Permit from the California Teacher Credentialing institution in June 2016, and completed the CLASS Train-the-Trainer: Pre-K, Toddler, Infant program from Teachstone in May 2016. Pamela also obtained the CLASS Pre-K, Toddler, Infant Observer certification from Teachstone in January 2011.
