Arunima Shilpi has extensive experience in the field of data science, bioinformatics, and research. Arunima is currently working as a Staff Scientist in Data Science at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development. Arunima joined the company in 2023 and their role is ongoing.

Prior to their current position, Arunima worked as a Bioinformatics Scientist at The National Institutes of Health from August 2019 to July 2022. During their time there, they focused on the identification of nucleolar associated domains (NADs) in seven cancer cell lines, utilizing DNA-sequencing analysis and ATAC-sequencing techniques.

Before joining The National Institutes of Health, Arunima held the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Northwestern University from December 2016 to June 2019. In this role, they completed several projects including the development of a platform-independent isoform-level classification system for high-grade serous ovarian cancer patients and the creation of a software-package for subtype prediction in these patients.

Overall, Arunima Shilpi's work experience demonstrates their expertise in data science, bioinformatics, and research, with a focus on cancer-related projects and analysis.

Arunima Shilpi completed their Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics from Banasthali Vidyapith from 2007 to 2009. Arunima then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Life Science from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela from 2011 to 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Arunima Shilpi has obtained several certifications. In 2021, they completed the following courses through Coursera: Deep learning Specialization, Sequence Model, Convolutional Neural Networks, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, and Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter Tuning, Regularization and Optimization. In 2020, they also completed the course Deep Learning and Neural Networks.

Furthermore, Arunima Shilpi has received certifications through various examinations. Arunima successfully passed the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research examination for a junior research fellowship and for lectureship, conducted by the CSIR- Unit for Research and Development of Information Products (URDIP) in 2011 and 2010, respectively. Arunima also qualified the graduate aptitude test for engineering (GATE) in 2011 and took entrance examinations for the Ph.D. program in bioinformatics at Pondicherry University and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research/National Centre for Biological Sciences in 2011 and 2010, respectively.
