Florent Pignal

Florent Pignal has a diverse and extensive work experience in various industries. Florent is currently serving as the Head of Engineering at Lifen since 2021. Prior to this, Florent worked at IOT Valley as the CEO of Startup Studio where they developed strategies for the new studio, collaborated with industry partners, and supported 30 entrepreneurs across 6 projects.

From 2014 to 2019, Florent co-founded and served as the CTO of DRUST, a car data analytics platform that raised €8M and achieved a technological exit to Continental AG. Florent successfully managed a team of 35 employees and generated a turnover of €1M.

Between 2009 and 2014, Florent held multiple roles at PSA Peugeot Citroën. As the System Design Leader, they were responsible for designing lubrication and cooling systems for diesel engines in partnership with Ford. Florent managed design and validation processes, supervised a team of computing engineers, and led cross-functional teams. Florent also served as a Technical Leader for Testing and Calibration of Automated Systems during this time.

Florent also lectured at ESTACA - Ecole Supérieure des Techniques Aéronautiques et de Construction Automobile from 2010 to 2014, teaching Engine Technology to engineering students.

Early in their career, Florent worked as a Powertrain Engineer at Renault, where they focused on the design and prototyping of supercharging control software and conducted deep technical work in energy engineering and motor control using MatLab-Simulink.

Additionally, Florent gained experience in the field of ultra-low fuel consumption vehicles through their involvement with Proto INSA Club, where they worked on designing and manufacturing such vehicles.

Florent also conducted research at INSA de Lyon, specializing in fuel consumption optimization for hybrid vehicles. Florent developed physical models of hybrid engines and optimized powertrain control for improved efficiency.

Overall, Florent Pignal has demonstrated expertise in engineering, leadership, project management, and strategy development throughout their diverse work experience.

Florent Pignal attended INSA Lyon - Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon from 2002 to 2007, where they pursued their Engineering Degree with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering. Following their time at INSA Lyon, they continued their education at IFP School from 2007 to 2008, obtaining another Engineering Degree with a specialization in Powertrain.
