Matthew Legaspi, MS, CIH

Matthew Legaspi, MS, CIH has over 12 years of experience in the field of industrial hygiene. Matthew currently serves as the EHS Manager at Lilac Solutions, Inc. starting in October 2022. Prior to that, they were the Senior EHS Program Manager - Industrial Hygiene at Cepheid from December 2021 to October 2022, where they were responsible for industrial hygiene globally and ensured regulatory compliance across sites.

Matthew also worked as an Industrial Hygienist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from October 2017 to November 2021, providing comprehensive industrial hygiene support and acting as the respirable crystalline silica subject matter expert.

Before that, they were a Senior EH&S Industrial Hygienist at Berkshire Hathaway Energy, CalEnergy Operating Corporation from August 2014 to October 2017. In this role, they developed and implemented health and safety programs, enhanced safety culture, and achieved cost savings.

Matthew started their career as an Industrial Hygienist at RiskNomics LLC from January 2013 to July 2014. Matthew also gained experience as an Industrial Hygiene Field Technician at Forensic Analytical Consulting Services Inc. in 2012 and as an Analytical Chemist at Forensic Analytical Laboratories, Inc. from May 2010 to June 2012.

Additionally, Matthew has interned as a Pesticides and Human Health Intern at Pesticide Action Network North America in 2009 and as a Research Assistant at UC Riverside Plant Pathology Department in 2009, where they participated in a research project and performed data collection and handling of specimens.

Matthew Legaspi, MS, CIH completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Science & Biological Science at the University of California, Riverside from 2004 to 2009. Matthew then pursued their Master of Science (MS) degree in Industrial Hygiene at Montana Technological University from 2016 to 2021. Matthew Legaspi obtained various certifications in their field. In May 2017, they became a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) through the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH). In December 2016, they obtained the OSHA Authorized General Industry Trainer certification from UC San Diego. Additionally, they acquired the Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist certification from the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation in June 2016. Matthew Legaspi also holds the CADPH Lead Inspector/Assessor certification from the California Department of Public Health, although the specific details of when and where they obtained it are unknown.
