Romel Canlas

Romel Canlas has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Romel started their career as a Radiation Therapist at BC Cancer in 2011 and worked in that role until 2018. During their time at BC Cancer, Romel also served as a Clinical Educator for Radiation Therapy and a Clinical Informatics Specialist as part of the Clinical Systems Transformation project.

In 2018, Romel transitioned into a managerial position as the Manager of Regional Centre Services at BC Cancer. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating and managing various center-wide services, implementing operational initiatives, and ensuring the effective management of facilities and infection control processes.

In 2020, Romel joined Limbus AI as their Clinical Account Manager and Sales and Marketing Lead. Romel was involved in both international and domestic sales and marketing efforts for the company, which specializes in developing AI-based software tools for cancer imaging and treatment. Romel later took on the additional role of Global Market Development Manager and Regional Account Executive at Limbus AI, where they focused on key account management, marketing, and onboarding and support for the international distribution network.

Romel Canlas began their education journey at Simon Fraser University in 2003, where they pursued a degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. This period lasted until 2007. Romel then attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology from 2008 to 2011, earning a Bachelor of Technology degree in Radiation Therapy. Lastly, Romel Canlas enrolled in Sheffield Hallam University in 2015 and completed their Master of Science degree in Radiotherapy and Oncology in 2020.
