Carla R. Reed, PHR, SHRM-CP

Carla R. Reed, PHR, SHRM-CP has a wealth of experience in human resources. Carla R. began their career in 2004 as a Multi-Cultural Outreach Board Member for the Office of Admissions at the University of the South. In 2008, they became a Human Resources Generalist at America's Promise Alliance, where they were responsible for creating an intern recruitment and outreach program, leading to a 10% increase in applicants. From 2009 to 2014, Carla served in multiple roles at WIN - Women's Information Network, including Chair (Executive Director), Membership Director, and Non-Profit Network Co-chair. In 2014, they were a Human Resources Generalist at Phoenix House and a Human Resources Generalist at Nonprofit HR for the National Legal Aid & Defender Association. From 2015 to 2018, Carla was a Manager of Human Resources and Human Resources Generalist at Youth For Understanding USA (YFU). From 2020 to 2021, they were a Deputy Director of Human Resources and Interim Deputy Director of Human Resources at Community Change. Currently, Carla is an Assistant Director of Talent and Organizational Development at Living Cities.

Carla R. Reed holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from The University of the South and has studied Spanish at San Juan Evangelista. In addition, they have obtained two certifications: the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in August 2013 and the Society For Human Resources - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from SHRM in February 2015.
