Job description

Our mission driven client is seeking a dynamic and experienced People & Culture Director to join their team in Ft. Myers. This pivotal role will involve rebuilding trust, enhancing HR processes, and driving cultural change across multiple sites, including our stores, headquarters, and construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on approach and be willing to travel to various locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Administration: Oversee HR administration tasks, including payroll, benefits, and records management.
  • Leadership: Lead and mentor the HR team, including the future HR admin, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • HRIS Management: Oversee the use and adoption of Paycor as our HRIS system, ensuring it is effectively utilized across the organization.
  • Employee Relations: Handle employee grievances, mediate disputes, and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Process Improvement: Review and improve HR processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Site Visits: Regularly visit stores, headquarters, and construction sites to engage with employees, understand their needs, and provide HR support.
  • Recruitment & Retention: Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent within the organization.
  • Compliance: Ensure all HR practices comply with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Training & Development: Identify training needs and coordinate relevant programs to enhance employee skills and performance.

Qualification

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a retail or multi-site environment.
  • HRIS Proficiency: Strong experience with Paycor or similar HRIS systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel to various locations as required.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Hands-On Approach: Willingness to be actively involved in day-to-day HR activities and site visits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Retail Experience: Previous experience in a retail environment is highly desirable.
  • Change Management: Experience in managing organizational change and driving cultural transformation.
  • Certification: HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
