Tomás Aherne

Tomás Aherne has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Tomás currently serves as the Vice President of Research and Development for the Telecom Transmission Business Unit at Lumentum, where they lead global R&D efforts. In this role, they are responsible for developing products, business processes, and organizational capacity to meet business goals. Tomás's previous experience includes senior roles at JDSU and Finisar Corporation, where they were involved in transceiver development and design management. Tomás also worked as a manufacturing engineer at JDSU and held technical staff positions at Lucent Technologies.

Tomás Aherne holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics from Trinity College Dublin. Tomás also has a Master of Engineering (MEngSC) degree from University College Cork and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from University College Dublin.
