Allison Bianchi

Vice President, Process Sciences at Lyell Immunopharma

Allison Bianchi has over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Allison is currently the Vice President of Process Sciences at Lyell Immunopharma since August 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Bristol Myers Squibb as the Executive Director of Emerging Platform Process Development and Technology for Cell Therapy from July 2020 to August 2021.

Before joining Bristol Myers Squibb, Bianchi held various roles at Juno Therapeutics, Inc. From February 2017 to July 2020, they served as the Senior Director of Tech R&D, and from July 2016 to July 2020, they also held the position of Senior Director of Cell Therapy Technology & Platforms. Prior to that, they were the Principal Scientist of Tech R&D at Juno Therapeutics from August 2016 to December 2017, and the Principal Scientist of Molecular Assays from November 2014 to July 2016.

Bianchi began their career at Amgen in 2003, where they held several positions. Allison worked as the Principal Scientist of Biologic Optimization from March 2013 to October 2014. Before that, they served as the Senior Scientist of Biologic Optimization from May 2011 to February 2013, the Senior Scientist of Cell Science & Technology from March 2006 to April 2011, and the Scientist of Cell Science & Technology from February 2003 to February 2006.

Allison also has experience working as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Immunex from February 2001 to February 2003, where they focused on the construction of novel vector systems and the characterization of therapeutic protein expression. Additionally, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Montreal Neurological Institute from August 1999 to December 2000, conducting research on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and primary neuronal cell culture.

Bianchi's early career includes a role as a Research Assistant at the University of Washington from September 1994 to August 1999, where they developed genetically engineered bacterial strains and conducted various laboratory techniques.

Allison Bianchi completed their Engineer's Degree in Biochemical Engineering from Duke University from 1990 to 1994. Allison then pursued further education and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Washington between 1994 and 1999.
