Data Engineer at Lytica

Nicholas Sendyk's work experience starts in 2015 as a Regional Soccer and Futsal Referee for the Ottawa Futsal Club. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Software Developer - Summer Student at Assent Compliance Inc, collaborating with a scrum team and deploying code for the company's B2B Software as a Service offering. In 2019, they worked as a Student Data Scientist, calibrating Machine Learning classification algorithms for the Artificial Intelligence Team at Assent Compliance Inc.

In 2020, Nicholas joined Teldio as a Software Developer, primarily focusing on developing the collaboration solution D3M. Nicholas also worked as a Teaching Assistant in 2020 for Carleton University, assisting in Data Management and Computation and Programming courses.

In 2021, they worked as a Student Data Engineer at Ciena, where they stored, analyzed, and manipulated large amounts of photonics network data. In 2022, they became a Data Science Researcher at Lytica Inc., leading the development of a hands-off system for natural language classifiers. Nicholas then joined Ciena again as a Data Science Intern, optimizing storage and analysis of photonics telemetry data.

In 2022, Nicholas took on the role of Research Assistant at Ericsson, participating in the development of a VR-controlled telepresence system. Currently, they are a Data Engineer at Lytica Inc., starting in 2023.

Nicholas Sendyk is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering - BE degree in Computer Software Engineering at Carleton University from 2019 to 2023. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications in different areas. In August 2020, they completed the "Web Design Essentials" certification from BitDegree. In May 2020, they completed the "PredictionX: Omens, Oracles, and Prophecies" certification offered by HarvardX via the edX platform. Furthermore, Nicholas obtained certifications in inbound marketing, inbound methodology, and inbound sales from HubSpot Academy in April and May of 2020. Most recently, in February 2021, they completed the "Game Theory" certification from Stanford Online.
