Ashley Smith has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Community Engagement Lead at Marathon Oil Corporation since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Energy Operations at Truckers Against Trafficking from 2018 to 2022. In this role, they promoted the organization's mission and built partnerships within the energy industry to combat human trafficking. Ashley also worked at the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources as a Training Coordinator from 2017 to 2018, where they researched and secured training for various departments and coordinated company wellness activities. Ashley served as an Area Community Coordinator at HEB from 2015 to 2017, acting as a link between H-E-B stores and the local community through events, donations, and educational outreach. Before that, Ashley was an AgriScience Teacher & FFA Advisor at Cypress-Fairbanks ISD from 2011 to 2015. Ashley also gained experience as a Congressional Intern for Congressman Pete Olson in 2010 and served as a Fair Coordinator for the Texas FFA AgriScience Fair from 2008 to 2010. Ashley began their career as a Student Assistant in the Agricultural Education and Communications Department at Texas Tech University from 2008 to 2010, and was a Media Intern at the National FFA Convention in 2009.

Ashley Smith obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Agriculture from Texas Tech University from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they received a Diploma from Cypress Creek High School from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications including ICS-100.C and ICS-200.C from FEMA in 2022, Empower Freedom Training from Truckers Against Trafficking in 2019, and Google Analytics for Beginners, Inbound Sales Certification, and Inbound Certified from HubSpot Academy in 2017.
