About Us:

Markaz is on the mission to supercharge the rails of e-commerce for the common man in Pakistan. We want to empower the Pakistani middle class, with a special focus on women who are currently not part of the Pakistani financial ecosystem, and help establish hundreds of thousands of new online entrepreneurs in the coming years. We enable anyone in Pakistan to start their online business with zero investment from the comfort of their home and make money by selling products through different social media channels like WhatsApp and Facebook. All they have to do is download the Markaz app, get access to 1,000s of products, share them on their social media with a profit margin and get orders. Markaz will take care of everything else: delivery, payments, customer experience and profit dissemination. 

The start-up has been formed by 4 lifetime friends who have previously worked at organizations like Alipay, Amazon and Telenor and have a combined experience of 40+ years in fintech, product management, growth, marketing, e-commerce and technology. About the Role:

As a Supply Acquisition Associate, you will act as the primary point of contact with suppliers, developing and maintaining strong and trustworthy relationships with them. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in vendor management. If you are a self-starter with a strong desire to succeed, we want to hear from you.  

Responsibilities:

  • Work as the first point of contact with the suppliers, maintaining strong and trustworthy relationships with them
  • Train and guide suppliers on how to effectively list products on our platform
  • Collaborate with the listings operations team to optimize the overall quality of product listings.
  • Provide ongoing support and feedback to suppliers to enhance their listings and improve sales performance.
  • Identify and assess opportunities to expand into new product categories.
  • Conduct market research to understand the demand and competition in potential new categories.
  • Work closely with suppliers to explore the feasibility of offering products in new categories.
  • Manage end-to-end supply processes, from inbound management to order concerns and order dispatching on a timely basis
  • Responsible for steering the supplier operations to the agreed SLAs and KPIs

Skills Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a related field

  • Preferable 1+ years’ experience in operations and vendor management

  • High level of independence, self-confidence and responsibility

  • Experience working in a fast paced and dynamic environment

  • Able to work cohesively, detail-oriented, organized with the ability to multitask

  • Strong cross functional and collaboration skills

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills

  • Having a strong bias for action
