Scott Mercer has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Scott began their career at Little Caesars as an Assistant Store Manager from 1991 to 1992. Following this, they worked at FedCo as a Grocery Clerk for a short duration in 1993. In the same year, they joined the US Navy as a Sonar Technician Second Class Petty Officer, where they rapidly advanced and managed their own work department until 1997.

After leaving the Navy, Mercer joined Nike and held various roles, including Shipping and Receiving Manager, Department Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Regional Facilities Manager. During their time at Nike, they managed budgets, developed financial plans, managed vendors and materials, and coached and developed staff.

From 2009 to 2011, Mercer worked at Genesis Maintenance Corp. as an Estimate/Vendor Manager. Scott then returned to Nike in 2011 as an Assistant Head Coach - Operations Manager. Finally, they joined Marshall Retail Group in 2012 as a Facilities Manager and later advanced to the position of Director of Facilities in 2015, where they currently work.

Scott Mercer attended UNLV Lee Business School from 2000 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Their field of study included Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, and Marketing. Prior to attending UNLV, they attended College of Southern Nevada from 1997 to 2000, focusing on General Education. Before that, they attended Cypress College from 1991 to 1993, also pursuing General Education.
