Derryl Thomson

Derryl Thomson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Derryl is currently the Head of Human Capital Management at Masana Petroleum Solutions (Pty) Ltd since August 2019. Prior to this role, they were self-employed as a Human Resources Consultant at DTE Consulting, offering services such as HR, Industrial Relations, and Project Management. Derryl held this position from January 2016 until May 2023. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as an HR Manager at Chemetall. In 2012, they briefly worked as a Consultant in a private capacity before joining Wipro Technologies as an HR Manager from 2011 to 2012. From 2007 to 2011, they served as a Human Resources Manager at Gijima, managing various HR functions and overseeing the HR team. Derryl began their career in 2006 as a Human Resources Supervisor at Mustek, where they managed the day-to-day operations of the HR department and implemented BBE policies. In 2001, they worked in the Legal and Customer Care department at NHBRC.

Derryl Thomson's education history begins in 1984 when they attended Chris J Botha Senior Secondary School. After completing their secondary education, they went on to pursue a Bachelor of Laws (BIuris) degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal from 1989 to 1994. Following this, in 2002 to 2003, Derryl completed an Honours in Labour Law at the University of Johannesburg. In 2011 to 2013, they enrolled in the Milpark Business School and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus area that is unspecified. Additionally, Derryl attended the Witten School of Management in Germany in 2015, participating in the Chemetall Leadership Program, which focused on organizational leadership.
