Team Lead, Groundwater Modelling at Matrix Solutions

Mark Ranjram has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mark is currently working as a Hydrogeological Engineer-in-Training at Matrix Solutions Inc. since January 2022. Previously, Mark worked as a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Waterloo from September 2018 to December 2018. Mark also gained experience as a Data Manager at FluksAqua from May 2016 to November 2016, where they were responsible for collecting and managing drinking water quality data and developing an infographic for public awareness. Mark worked as a Spatial Analyst at the City of Toronto from May 2013 to August 2013. Mark also served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant (co-op) at the University of Waterloo in 2012 and as a Geotechnical Intern (co-op) at Rocscience in 2011. Additionally, Mark worked as an Environmental Modeller (co-op) at AECL in 2010 and as a Sidewalk Inspector (co-op) at the City of Toronto in 2009.

Mark Ranjram is an individual who has pursued a comprehensive education in the field of engineering. Mark began their academic journey at the University of Waterloo in 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Environmental Engineering in 2013. Subsequently, Mark attended McGill University from 2013 to 2016 and obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Civil Engineering.

Eager to further expand their knowledge and expertise, Mark returned to the University of Waterloo in 2017 and pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Civil Engineering, which they successfully completed in 2021.

Additionally, Mark has obtained two notable certifications to enhance their qualifications. In November 2018, they acquired the status of Engineering Intern from the Professional Engineers Ontario, further solidifying their professional standing. Mark also completed the "Fundamentals of University Teaching" program offered by the Centre for Teaching Excellence at the University of Waterloo in August 2018, demonstrating their commitment to effectively contribute to the field of academia.

Throughout their educational journey, Mark Ranjram has consistently focused on civil engineering and has diligently acquired a broad understanding of the subject through their bachelor's, master's, and doctoral studies.
