Matheus Furtado e Faria

Matheus Furtado e Faria, M.Eng., currently serves as a Senior Mine Planning Consultant and Product Manager at both KPI Mining Solutions and KPI Digital Solutions since October 2021. With a solid background in mining and mineral engineering, previous experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at McGill University where an integrated stope design and underground mine production scheduling optimization method was developed, achieving a 16% higher net present value compared to conventional methods. Prior to that, Matheus held managerial responsibilities at CEEL Consultoria e Análises Ambientais, leading a team in technical and environmental consulting for various industries. Early career experience includes internships at ArcelorMittal and Vale, where technical evaluations and technology development in mineral processing were conducted. Matheus completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Mineral Engineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais and is pursuing a Master of Engineering in the same field at McGill University. Additional education includes exchange programs in Geological and Earth Sciences in France and Mining and Mineral Engineering in Portugal.
