Benjamin King is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in the field of biomedical sciences and bioinformatics. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Maine since January 2017, Benjamin previously held the role of Assistant Professor. In addition, Benjamin has been a Senior Staff Scientist at the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory since August 2009. Benjamin's prior roles include Senior Manager of Computational Sciences and Senior Bioinformatics Analyst at The Jackson Laboratory from August 1999 to August 2009, Research Informatics Engineer at AstraZeneca from July 1997 to August 1999, and Bioinformatics Analyst at Genetics Institute, Inc. from April 1996 to July 1997. Benjamin's education includes a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Maine, complemented by a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, both from Boston University.
