Dr. Shepard is a career entrepreneur. He has created or been involved with over a dozen start-up companies in the past 20 years that have built foundations changing the world we live in.
As an entrepreneur currently he is CEO, President and Chairman of Medacheck LLC, a technology company in the Health IT marketplace specializing on better health through medication adherence and remote patient care. Dr. Shepard also is a partner in an international consulting firm specializing on micro business creation in emerging markets. He is the owner of the Rochester River Monsters, a professional lacrosse franchise in the Can-Am Lacrosse League.
As an educator, Dr. Shepard has taught in the areas of entrepreneurship, leadership, and management for the past 10 years. He has served as the role of department chair, full time faculty, as well as part-time faculty at five different universities. His academic research is in the area of small business incubators and talent management and his work has been published in multiple journals.
Dr. Shepard holds a BS Degree in Organizational Management from Roberts Wesleyan College in Chili, NY. He has obtained a MBA from Medaille College in Buffalo, and holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary studies with a focus on Ethics and Creative Leadership with a secondary concentration in the Humanities from The Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, Ohio. His dissertation research was focused in Small Business Incubators. He resides in Cincinnati, Ohio but also has a home in Western NY.
