Catherine Fan

Catherine Fan has a diverse work experience in various research roles. Catherine is currently working as a Synthetic Biologist at Epoch Biodesign since October 2022. Prior to this, they were a JSPS Research Fellow at The University of Tokyo from November 2020 to October 2022. Catherine was also a Graduate Researcher at the University of Oxford from September 2015 to November 2019. Before that, they served as a Student Researcher at the University of Cambridge from October 2014 to September 2015. Catherine gained experience as a Visiting Research Fellow at the National Cancer Center of Tokyo from June 2014 to September 2014. Catherine also worked as a Student Researcher in Prather Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from May 2012 to December 2013, and in Langer Lab from June 2011 to July 2012. Moreover, they were a Student Researcher in Aida Lab at The University of Tokyo from June 2013 to August 2013. Catherine began their research career as a Student Researcher at UTHSCSA from June 2008 to June 2010.

Catherine Fan began their education in 2010 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Engineering. Catherine completed their undergraduate studies in 2014. Following their undergraduate degree, they enrolled at the University of Cambridge in 2014, obtaining a Master of Philosophy degree in Biochemistry in 2015. From 2015 to 2018, they furthered their education at the University of Oxford, focusing on Synthetic Biology, and earned a DPhil degree in Engineering Science.
