Mark Niland

Lead Developer at Merapar

Mark Niland began their work experience in 2004 as a Web Developer at H20 on the GO, where they were responsible for planning, designing, and updating the company's web presence. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a Developer at Goss Interactive, focusing on the design and implementation of new technologies into the iCM product. In 2011, they held roles as a Software Engineer at Computech IT Services, developing business software solutions, and as an IT Applications Developer at Princess Yachts International plc, maintaining and developing in-house systems. From 2013 to 2021, they worked at VUALTO, initially as a Senior Software Developer and later as the Head of player integration, Technical Lead Players, and Senior Software Developer. In these roles, they built bespoke solutions for content owners, designed and integrated diverse systems, and wrote code in multiple languages to suit client needs. Currently, they are the Lead Developer at Merapar, starting in October 2021.

Mark Niland obtained a BSc in Web Applications Development from the University of Plymouth, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their degree, they hold several certifications, including Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) from Scrum.org, Up and Running with AngularJS from lynda.com (obtained in May 2014), AWS Certified Developer – Associate from Amazon Web Services (obtained in December 2022), English Football Association Coaching Goalkeeping Level 2 from the England Football Association (obtained in June 2017), English Football Association Coaching Level 2 from the England Football Association (obtained in August 2016), Effective Design of RESTful APIs from Lynda.com (obtained in March 2016), and Git Essential Training from Lynda.com (obtained in February 2016).
