Philipp Setz

Philipp Setz has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. Philipp is currently working as the General Counsel at Metaco. Prior to that, they worked at Ivalua as the Senior Director, Commercial Legal, where they oversaw all commercial legal activities in the DACH, CEE, and APAC regions and supported global compliance. Before their role at Ivalua, Philipp was the Senior Legal Counsel EMEA & APAC at the same company. Philipp also worked at Riot Games as the International Counsel, where they played a key role in setting up League of Legends European Regional Leagues and worked on publishing new games in Europe. Philipp's experience includes working as an Attorney-at-Law / Registered Foreign Lawyer (Singapore) at Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, advising international clients on corporate law, employment law, data protection, and venture capital. Philipp also worked at Celonic AG as the Director Legal & HR, where they led the legal and HR departments and was a member of the management team. Additionally, Philipp has prior experience as an Attorney at Law at PwC, a Press Officer and Legal Advisor at ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen, a German Executive Project Manager at Mashup Ventures Ltd., and as a Referendar at Luther LLP and Linten & Partner Rechtsanwälte.

Philipp Setz obtained their law degree with a 1st State examination from Universität des Saarlandes, where they studied from 2003 to 2009. Philipp continued their education at District Court Essen, completing their 2nd State examination during their time in Referendariat from 2010 to 2012.
