Joeri Van Steen has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Founder, Managing Partner & CTO at Faktion, an artificial intelligence engineering powerhouse and product studio. Joeri founded Metamaze and Chatlayer, both focusing on AI technologies for businesses. Chatlayer was acquired by Sinch, a global leader in cloud communications. Joeri also worked as a Professor in Computer Science at Hogeschool Gent and served as a Member of the Board of Advisors at HOGENT. Joeri founded Rappit BVBA, specializing in high-performance web applications, and had various roles as a software engineer and solutions architect. Additionally, Joeri was the Founder and Managing Director of What's Cookin'? and worked as a QA Engineer at MUTOH Belgium nv.

Joeri Van Steen's education history begins with their completion of the "Mathematics - Science" program at Atheneum Aalst from 1993 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Computer Science at Ghent University from 1999 to 2003.
