Matthew Gray

Matthew Gray has extensive work experience in the IT and digital field. Matthew currently holds the position of Head of IT & Digital / GM of IT at Independent Hardware Group since 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Board Member (Non Executive Director) at Timber & Hardware Exchange (T&HE) starting in 2023. Matthew also served as the Head of IT & Digital at Metcash in 2021. Before joining these companies, Matthew worked as the Chief Information Officer and Business Transformation Executive Advisor at a private organization starting in 2019. Matthew has also worked as a CIO Advisor - Technology & Digital Strategy and Transformation at Bupa in 2020. Matthew's earlier experience includes roles such as Head of IT - Strategy, Architecture, PMO and Governance at Australian Pharmaceutical Industries from 2015 to 2019, and Partner + General Manager of Technology and Operations at OoOdleLishious from 2013 to 2015. Matthew has also worked at MYER from 2006 to 2015, holding various roles including Head of Enterprise and Corporate Services Portfolio, IT Business Relationship Manager, and Applications and Portfolio Manager. Before joining MYER, Matthew worked at Coles Myer IT (CMLT IT - Strategy, Architecture & Business Engagement) in 2005 and Myer as an Allocation and Procurement Analyst in 2004.

Matthew Gray obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering & Software Systems Engineering from RMIT University, completing their degree from 1998 to 2001. Matthew later pursued a Masters of Business Technology in Executive Leadership in Business and Technology from Monash University, from 2003 to 2004. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained various qualifications including "Managing Experienced Managers," "Managing Experts," "Comparing Agile versus Waterfall Project Management," and "Stay Lean with Kanban" from LinkedIn in 2019. Matthew also acquired "Body Language for Leaders" from LinkedIn in 2017, and "Requirements Engineering" from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2014. Matthew's education history also includes obtaining "Workplace First Aid (Level 2)" from VBA 398 in 2006, and they completed the "MSP - Managing Successful Programmes" qualification from APMG-International, although the year of completion is not specified.
