Heikki Laurila

Heikki Laurila has extensive work experience in the mining and mineral processing industry. Heikki started their career in 1985 as a Mill Metallurgist and Automation Engineer at Outokumpu Mines, Enonkoski Mine. Heikki then worked as a Mill Superintendent at Outokumpu Mines, Hitura Mine. In 1990, they joined FinnMinerals Oy as a Plant Manager, where they were in charge of a talc concentrator and micronizing plant.

From 1994 to 1997, Heikki worked as a Minerals Processing Sales Support Engineer at Outokumpu Technology Canada. Heikki then joined Outokumpu Technology as a Product Manager for the Proscon 2100 Automation System. Heikki continued their career at Outokumpu Technology, taking on roles such as Manager R&D, Flotation and Vice President R&D & Business Development Minerals Processing.

In 2006, Heikki joined Outotec, where they served as President Minerals Processing North America and later as Vice President R&D Non Ferrous Solutions. In 2012, they joined Hatch as a Technical Director Mineral Processing.

Most recently, Heikki joined Metso Outotec in 2020 as a Senior Director Solution Sales.

Heikki Laurila completed their MSc degree in Mineral Processing at Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan from 1979 to 1984.
