Apollina “Polly” Kyle

Apollina "Polly" Kyle has a diverse range of work experience. Apollina “Polly” started their career as a Banquet Server at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in 2016. From 2016 to 2018, they also worked as an Event Coordinator for AMS of UBC Vancouver, where they promoted events and strengthened the organization's presence within the university. In 2017, they had a human resources internship at Oscar de la Renta, where they handled personnel files and conducted audits.

In 2018, Polly interned at Gucci in the Human Resources department, assisting with the implementation of a digital onboarding system and summarizing presentations for the Vice President of HR. Apollina “Polly” also participated in the Virtual Student Federal Service program with the U.S. Department of State, where they interacted with students in Russia to teach English and leadership skills.

Polly joined the United Nations as an OHR - Talent and Diversity Inclusion Intern in 2019, where they executed a talent workshop and assisted with external communication through social media. In 2020, they worked as an English Second Language Tutor for Ringle, focusing on preparing high-ranking South Korean professionals and students for job interviews and applications in English.

In 2021, Polly worked as a Capstone Consultant for Kreab España, where they constructed an intelligence report on the impact of the paradigm shift from the West to the East on sustainable development. Later that year, they became a Research Ambassador for Metta Space, a start-up focused on preventing and dealing with sexual harassment in the workplace. Apollina “Polly” wrote academic papers on the topic and facilitated reporting and support services for those affected.

Most recently, Polly joined NATO in 2022 as a Staff Officer in the Office of Gender Advisor. Prior to that, they interned in the same office in 2022.

Polly Kyle completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and International Relations from The University of British Columbia, where they studied from 2014 to 2019.

In 2020, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in International Relations and Affairs from the IE School of Politics, Economics & Global Affairs.

In 2021, Polly Kyle participated in an exchange program and completed a Master of International Relations term at Sciences Po.

Additionally, they have obtained various certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2020, they completed the "Leading People" course from Harvard Business Publishing Education. In 2022, they obtained certifications such as "Human Security Approach: From Principles to Practice" from the United Nations System Staff College, "Military Gender Adviser Course" from the United Nations, "Gender Focal Point (GFP) Course" from NATO, and "Women and Gender Equality: Gender Based Analysis+" from the Government of Canada.
