Jamil has served as Executive Chef at Michael's On East Restaurant & Catering since August 2010, showcasing expertise in high-quality food preparation and management. Prior to this, Jamil held the position of Executive Chef at Colony Beach Tennis Resort from October 2000 to August 2010. Jamil began their culinary career at Papas Grill, where services were provided as Chef from July 1994 to October 2000.

Founded on April 27, 1987, the celebrated Michael’s On East restaurant takes fine dining to another level, offering award-winning cuisine and outstanding service in an exceptional 1940s supper club atmosphere. In 2012, U.S. Airways Magazine selected Michael’s On East as an East Coast Icon. Now a part of Sarasota’s history, partners Michael Klauber and Phil Mancini have built their unmatched reputation for exceptional service and inspired cuisine on the principle that “each guest should be treated the way they expect to be treated." Located at 1212 East Avenue South in Midtown Plaza, the iconic fine dining restaurant is open for dinner 5 p.m. to close Tuesday through Saturday. Michael’s Lounge opens at 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, featuring happy hour specials from 5-7 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Sundays, with the exception of Easter and Mother’s Day each year.
