The Assistant Controller will be an integral part of the finance team, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Finance and working closely with senior leadership. This role is designed for an experienced finance professional with a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial statements, and supporting the financial strategies of the company.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations for the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end closing processes.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure team efficiency, accuracy, and professional growth.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting for multiple entities.
  • Lead the consolidation of financials for multiple business entities, ensuring that intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reporting are accurate.
  • Draft and review notes to the financial statements, ensuring full and accurate disclosures in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee multi-entity revenue recognition, ensuring compliance with applicable revenue recognition standards (ASC 606), and accurate reporting of revenue across all entities.
  • Manage foreign exchange (FX) accounting and reporting, ensuring accurate translation of financials and adherence to global accounting standards.
  • Support the Senior Director of Finance in preparing internal and external financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing variances and making recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management to assist with strategic decision-making.
  • Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
  • Support ad-hoc financial projects, analysis and initiatives as needed

You'll be successful in this role if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in financial reporting and internal controls
  • Knowledge of GAAP and experience with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed company or fast-growing software company is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • CPA license required
