Charles Albrecht has had a long and varied career in the technology industry. Charles began their career in 1990 as a Contract Computer Specialist at Aquent. In 1993, they moved to the National Center for Atmospheric Research as a Computer Services Engineer, where they designed and programmed a data-driven application to track work-in-progress for a moderately-sized heterogeneous workgroup. In 1995, they worked as a Programmer at AOL Productions South (Redgate Communications). In 1997, they became self-employed as a Programmer Analyst, providing clients with support for network and database issues. In 1998, they moved to Euonymic Solutions as a Lead Developer, providing clients with support for network and database issues. From 2003 to 2006, they worked at Apple Computer as a Senior Software Engineer, designing and delivering enhancements to the scheduling and attendance components of the PowerSchool Student Information System. From 2006 to 2015, they worked at Pearson as a Senior Release Engineer, Release Engineering Manager, and Senior Software Engineer. Finally, from 2015 to 2020, they worked at PowerSchool Group LLC as a Senior DevOps Engineer and Release Engineering Manager, where they architected, designed and implemented the transition and upgrade of GitLab from on-premise systems to hybrid Azure-AWS VPCs, as well as designed and implemented ticket-driven automation pipelines for account management in developer-facing tools. In 2020, they moved to MIDAS Education as the Director of Systems Engineering and Senior Site Reliability Engineer.

Charles Albrecht obtained a Master of Science in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado Boulder between 1995 and 1999. Charles also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Physics & Mathematics from Cornell University between 1985 and 1989. Additionally, Charles has obtained five certifications from Coursera and Coursera Verified Certificates: Exploratory Data Analysis (June 2014), Getting and Cleaning Data (May 2014), R Programming (May 2014), Computing for Data Analysis (October 2013), and Introduction to Data Science (June 2013).
